About Dancing for Him Studio

Dancing for Him Studio is dedicated to creating a Christ-centered environment for dancers of all ages to learn and grow. We desire to create a space where students feel like they belong and are loved and valued. Our instructors are committed to nurturing the passion, creativity, and artistry of every dancer, while instilling discipline and character. We offer a variety of styles of dance, as well as theater, to give each child and teen the ability to find a class they love. Most importantly, we seek to glorify God in every aspect of our dancing, teaching, and interactions.

What makes us different:

Small Classes

With a maximum of 12 kids in a class, our goal is to give each student the attention they need to learn and grow in their dancing.

Family Oriented

Our class schedule was intentionally created to avoid times such as meals, regular church meetings, and late evenings so that families are able to spend those times together.

Classes are 1-2 times per week, and no longer than an hour.

Scholarships Offered

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to participate in classes regardless of financial situation.

For more information about receiving and providing scholarships, please see the Scholarships page under menu options.

Christ Centered

We strive to create an environment that is honoring and glorifying to God through the way we teach, dance, and interact with one another at the studio.

Ministry Minded

While focusing on the growth and development of each student as dancers and actors, we also work to provide a space where students are able to grow in their relationships with the Lord. Our performances have music and choreography that is chosen to be wholesome, family-friendly, and aligned with Christian principals.

Why Choose Dancing for Him Studio

Classes We Offer

Ballet Level 1, 2, and 3

In Ballet Levels 1, 2, and 3, we will be learning basic ballet moves and positions, practicing combinations and choreography, and playing games to help with coordination and to practice what students are learning in class. We will have a performance at the end of each semester in which students will be performing a dance that they learned in classes.

Level 1 Ballet will be focusing more on things like mind/body coordination, imaginative games, and simpler combinations, while Level 2 Ballet will be learning new ballet moves and practicing more advanced combinations, but will still play games to practice what they are learning. Level 3 Ballet will be more advanced than the other two, with students learning and practicing more advanced moves and choreography.

Contemporary

Contemporary is a style of dance born from combining elements of many dance styles such as Classical Ballet, Modern and Jazz. Contemporary is known for its more fluid movements and unique expression. In Contemporary class we will learn new moves, combinations and techniques including improv, floor work, and partner exercises. A choreographed dance in the contemporary style will be learned throughout the semester and performed at the end of semester performance.

Ballet Levels 4, 5, and 6

In Ballet Levels 4, 5, and 6 students will be learning ballet moves and positions, practicing combinations in center and at the ballet barre, and learning choreography for the spring performance. Level 6 Ballet will have the same structure as Levels 4 and 5 Ballet, but with more advanced moves/combinations and choreography.

After School Ballet

In after school ballet (ages 4-6), we will be learning basic ballet moves and positions, practicing combinations and choreography, and playing games to help with coordination and to practice what students are learning in class. We will have a performance at the end of each semester in which students will be performing a dance that they learned in classes.

We will be focusing on things like mind/body coordination, imaginative games, and simple combinations.

This class was added specifically for students who attend public or private schools to have the opportunity to participate in ballet class.

Hip Hop Levels 1 and 2

Hip Hop is a great class for students who enjoy dancing in a less restricted style. In Hip Hop class students will learn various moves and will practice them by doing combinations during class. Throughout the semester, students will also be learning choreography which they will perform during our performance at the end of the semester. Since we are a Christian studio, Hip Hop dancing and attire will all be modest and appropriate.

Theater

In Theater students will be learning how to act by doing exercises, activities, and by playing fun games during class time. For example, during the semester students will be doing group projects such as making up a skit together, writing and performing a monologue, or playing a game like charades. Students will also be learning how to design sets, props, and costumes.

During the semester students will be learning and working on a play which they will perform at the end of the semester.

*If you have a child that is just interested in doing the behind the scenes work such as building sets and props, they are welcome to do so.

Private Lessons are also offered.

Testimonials

Erin Moore

This studio is more than just a place to learn dance; it’s a space where students are taught to glorify God through dance, worship, and community. We recently had the chance to attend one of their shows, and it was truly powerful. From start to finish, you could see the presence of God woven into every performance. The dancers didn’t just perform—they worshipped. It was beautiful to see such a clear expression of the gospel through art. If you’re looking for a dance studio that teaches excellent technique and keeps Christ at the center, Dancing for Him is a place we wholeheartedly recommend!
